My name is Joseph Daniel Funderburk, and I’m the person behind SetApart Supply.
What you see today didn’t start as a store with multiple brands, collections, and ideas for the future. It started with a shirt, an infinity symbol, and a statement I believed in:
I Am an Infinite Mast3rpiece.
Since then, the journey has included setbacks, name changes, new directions, and a vision that kept growing beyond what I originally started.
But before I explain the brands, I want to share the person and purpose behind them. Because for me, this business isn’t separate from my story. It’s one of the ways that story continues to take shape.
So I want to introduce myself.
Not with a polished version of my life that makes everything sound perfectly planned. Not as someone who has everything figured out. Just as a person who loves Jesus, values creativity, believes in being yourself, and is working to build something with purpose.
This is a little of my story—and the heart behind SetApart Supply.
The Person Behind the Products
I was born on February 18, 1992. On June 28, 2008, I fully gave my life to Christ.
I grew up around religion, but being surrounded by something isn’t the same as understanding it for yourself. There were times when it felt pushed on me rather than something I had personally chosen.
When I began to understand God’s grace and mercy in my own life, faith became more than something I had heard about. It became personal.
That’s why I’ve often described my outlook as Jesus over religion.
I’m not interested in looking religious, performing perfection, or acting like I’m better than someone else. I’m interested in following Jesus and allowing that relationship to shape how I live.
And I don’t always get it right.
I make mistakes. I have things to work on. I’m still learning how to be the person I believe I’m called to be. My faith doesn’t mean I have everything figured out. It gives me a foundation while I’m growing.
Creativity has always been another important part of my life.
I love music, photography, and making videos. Music, especially, has helped me through different seasons and given me ways to connect with stories, ideas, and experiences beyond my own.
Christian music holds a special place in my life, but I appreciate meaningful storytelling wherever I find it. Over the years, I’ve supported Christian music projects because I believed something created with purpose could reach someone who needed it—even if I never personally saw that happen.
That idea matters to me: something you create can become meaningful to someone else.
I’ve also never been the kind of person who wants to follow the crowd just to fit in. I value individuality. I believe you can take your responsibilities seriously without losing your personality, your sense of humor, or the part of you that still knows how to have fun.
And I believe you can hold strong convictions without treating people who are different from you as less valuable.
My friends have come from different backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life. I’m not trying to make everyone a copy of me. I’m trying to love people the way Jesus has loved me.
That’s something I have to practice, not something I claim to do perfectly.
It’s also part of the heart I want behind this business.
Where the Journey Started
In August 2021, I started selling shirts under the name Infinite Mast3rpiece.
It was the original brand—the beginning of everything that would eventually grow into SetApart Supply.
The first shirts were simple: wording, an infinity symbol, and the statement:
I Am an Infinite Mast3rpiece.
The reasoning behind that message came from Ephesians 2:10 and a belief that became the foundation of the brand:
God is Infinite. We are His Masterpiece.
For me, that was a statement about identity and purpose. It was a reminder that our value isn’t limited to what other people see in us or what we manage to accomplish.
There was meaning behind the shirt before there was a bigger business behind it.
As I continued building, I gradually started wanting the company to become more. More room for creativity. More ways to express different ideas. More possibilities than one message or one kind of product could hold.
But growth wasn’t a straight line.
There were setbacks, including problems with the way I had branded the name. The “3” in Mast3rpiece was a creative choice, but it also created challenges with Google recognizing the name the way I intended.
Eventually, I began transitioning toward the spelling Infinite Masterpiece for SEO purposes.
The spelling changed. The meaning didn’t.
That experience was part of learning that a name has to do more than look right to its creator. It also needs to work for the people trying to find it.
As the vision continued to expand, I explored another direction: Bloodmarked Collective.
Then I learned that some kids in Florida were also trying to build something under that name.
I didn’t want my decision to become the thing that took the excitement out of their entrepreneurial dreams. Rather than push forward at their expense, I chose to rebrand again.
In 2024, that next chapter became Marked & Chosen.
I spent the following months building collections for it. But the more I created, the more I realized that not every idea belonged under the same identity.
Some designs had a different energy. Some were meant for a different audience. Some needed their own story rather than being forced into a collection where they didn’t quite fit.
In 2025, that growing vision led to additional brands: ASCENDER, Under YHWH, Christian Goods Co, Dominion & Dust, and CrossNation.
What began with one shirt had grown into a family of brands.
SetApart Supply became the home bringing that vision together.
Different Brands, Distinct Stories
I don’t want these brands to be different names stamped onto the same idea.
Each one has its own creative story, audience, and direction. They give me room to create without expecting every customer—or every product—to fit into one style.
Here’s how the family comes together:
| Brand | The creative direction |
|---|---|
| Infinite Masterpiece | The original brand, now focused on custom engraving, etching, and cut gifts—continuing its story through a different creative outlet. |
| Marked & Chosen | Designs built for those who are marked, both past and present. Its identity makes room for the experiences people carry and the meaning they find in being chosen. |
| ASCENDER | Faith-neutral drinkware with its own identity, giving customers an option that doesn’t depend on an explicitly religious message. |
| Under YHWH | An on-fire-for-God statement brand. Bold, direct, and created for people who want their faith expressed without hesitation. |
| Christian Goods Co | Familiar Christian product ideas with a SetApart spin—slightly reworked through our own creative perspective. |
| Dominion & Dust | A home for the alternative Christian aesthetic: gothic, grungy, band-shirt-inspired designs that don’t follow the usual visual expectations of Christian apparel. |
| CrossNation | Designs for people whose interests bring together faith and U.S. patriotism. |
Some of these directions are openly faith-centered. Others are faith-neutral.
That’s intentional.
My faith is part of who I am, but every product doesn’t need to communicate it in the same way. There’s room here for different tastes, different interests, and different ways people express themselves.
There’s also room for someone who simply finds a product they like.
You don’t have to share every belief I have to be treated with respect or welcomed as a customer.
To me, being set apart shouldn’t mean acting superior. It should mean being intentional about what you stand for and how you carry it into what you do.
I want these brands to have distinct personalities while the business behind them holds to a consistent foundation: honesty, care, creativity, and a willingness to improve.
What Building It Really Looks Like
There’s a lot behind a store that doesn’t show up in a product photo.
There are designs to develop, descriptions to write, collections to organize, website details to fix, and decisions to reconsider. There are ideas that work and ideas that need another attempt.
I’m hands-on with that work while also balancing a separate full-time job.
I’m sharing that because I want you to know the reality behind SetApart Supply—not because I want the story to become a request for sympathy.
This is something I’m working to build, not something I want to present as effortless.
The name changes alone tell part of that story. I’ve had to adjust when an idea wasn’t working the way I hoped. I’ve had to decide when to keep going, when to change direction, and when making room for someone else mattered more than holding onto a name.
I don’t think every change needs to be dressed up as a perfectly planned business move.
Sometimes you learn something you didn’t know before. Sometimes you realize the vision has outgrown its original shape. Sometimes you make a choice because it feels like the right thing to do.
Then you keep building.
I also know that having a meaningful story doesn’t automatically make a business good at serving people.
That has to show up in the actual experience.
I want customers to understand what they’re buying. I want the store to communicate clearly. I want people to have room to share honest feedback, including when something falls short.
That’s part of why reviews matter to me.
Encouragement is appreciated, but feedback doesn’t have to be flattering to be useful. I need to understand the experience from the customer’s side, not just from the side of the person creating and organizing everything.
My goal is to keep improving the business—not simply keep adding products to it.
The Next Chapter
There’s more coming.
One of the next additions is Fallow & Flame: Coffee & Tea, a faith-neutral coffee and tea brand.
Its name reveal is planned for October 11, 2026, with the full launch planned for November 1, 2026. If you’re reading this before the reveal, consider this a little early introduction.
Fallow & Flame is another opportunity to build a brand with its own creative story rather than stretch an existing one into something it wasn’t meant to be.
Beyond that, I have two additional brands in the pipeline, along with SetApart Kids as another potential standalone part of the family.
I’m excited about those possibilities, but I don’t want to confuse plans with finished accomplishments. There’s work ahead, and each new direction deserves the attention needed to develop it properly.
The goal isn’t to collect brand names.
It’s to give meaningful ideas the right home.
Looking back, it’s a long way from those first Infinite Mast3rpiece shirts in August 2021. But I can still see the connection between where it started and where it’s going.
Faith. Creativity. Identity. Purpose.
And a willingness to let the vision grow without pretending I knew every step from the beginning.
I want SetApart Supply to become a business I can stand behind—not only because I like what it sells, but because I care about how it operates and how it treats people.
I want to keep my convictions without turning them into a performance. I want to create without losing the meaning behind the work. And I want to keep learning without pretending I’ve already arrived.
If you’ve purchased something, shared a product, offered feedback, or simply taken the time to read this story, thank you.
You don’t owe this business your support. But when you choose to give it, I appreciate it.
